Well, another primative Chinese tribal culture. I had been the place before for a journey, and these people live along the beach. One of their famous artifacts is the coconut sculpture (sometimes utensil) . Girls wear colorful woven skirt with a (usually) black top. But I figured out that with watercolor and color pencil, too hard to get an artistic black, so I went with green, and the hut actually does not have chimneys, I was just trying to give it more life. The last thing I want to complain is, my camera sucks. I almost smashed my table when I saw how the image turn out in my computer, swear to god, the original colors are ten times better than this, colorful and harmonized and clean, the colors look so dull and muddy now no matter how I fix them.
Aw this is really pretty, stands out from your other work because of the pencil /watercolor (I love this medium!). For colour saturation, Photoshop should do the trick, though there are all sorts of ways to bring it out a bit. Try changing the saturation under Hue/Saturation, or go to Image - Adjustments - Exposure to make the darker values a bit more rich (it's better than using brightness/contrast). Perhaps adjusting the Gamma levels under "Exposure" will help you to remove any muddiness you find.
This is awesome though 8) Hmm, well for brighter colors, what I do is just layer more and more colors, I guess. But wow, the shading and detail in this.... very impressive. I love all those designs, and her face is beautiful. Lovely work!
